I Want My Mojo Back

I haven't written in awhile. My writing mojo is lost and I don't know where to find it. Leave it alone and it'll come home, with lots of stories behind it.

Until then,
Be Blessed.

Empathy, A Blessing and A Curse

Sometimes I feel others pain so intensely it hurts. Sometimes I feel their joy in exponential equivalents. The joy I will gladly take and can certainly tolerate, but the pain, can be unbearable.

Today a friend lost a child. I was all prepared to write about love and how much my husband means to me, then I read the message. It happened that I was talking to my husband on the phone when I saw the news...I couldn't even say good-bye to him.

I wish I could ignore the pain of loss, but it's one of those things you have to face head on, or risk getting wiped out by it in the long run.

My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Psalms 62:7

Playing Catch Up...

Can be so much fun. Especially when it's catching up on reading my favorite blogs. Sometimes it seems like I haven't been around in forever, when there are so many entries to catch up on, but it is also usually so refreshing and invigorating.

I love seeing the newest things people are working on and where their creativity takes them. Or getting a glimpse into someone else's life. It's amazing what people are capable of. I little time and who knows what can be done. I've been following Susan's sewing escapades as she prepares for a cruise and wishing my skills were on par with hers. And after checking out Kris' page today, I found myself wishing I'd done more on the girls wall in our house. The murals she did in her childrens rooms are nothing short of AMAZING. And Carolyn has been working on some of the most beautiful mittens while driving 85 miles back and forth to help her dad out. WOW!!! And let's not forget Cathy who is just a knitting machine...she did more in a month than I probably do all year.

I tell you, I am in awe of you all, and enjoy seeing the things you create. Keep crafting and keep posting; you are my inspiration.

Who inspires you? Let me know.

Until next time,
Be Blessed

Playing Catch Up...Not A Good Start

Since we've gotten back home from our holiday, and things have settled a bit, I've been trying to get back into a rhythm and blog regularly. Well it hasn't happened yet, but I'm hoping I'll hit my stride some time soon.

I joined a blogging challenge in an attempt to push myself to write more frequently but to no avail. First my husband went out of town and took the laptop. I've become so spoiled by the convenience of it that I believed myself too good to work on a desktop - ha. That was short-lived. One can check email on a smart phone for only so long before your vision begins to show its age. So although there was access to a computer with Internet there was still much belly-aching about not being able to sit wherever I wanted, when I wanted and type. (Shameful I know, and very unbecoming, unattractive, elitist, and ungrateful).

Back to the main point though. I have every hope of spreading my uniqueness throughout the blogosphere at least three times per week. We shall see how that goes. I may need to re-visit my commitment to the challenge and see what I've actually signed up for. It may have only been once a week. And seeing as that worked really well for me over the summer, it is definitely a trend to consider keeping with.

Thing is when you're coming from behind, it's hard to get ahead; but not impossible. As you all know, where there is a will there is a way, and boy oh boy have I got a will. Now if I could just apply that to finishing all my WIP's I'll be golden. Don't forget every day is a new opportunity to get it right.

Until the next time,
Be Blessed.

Being On The Ball...

Is NOT easy. Especially if you haven't done anything physical in a week. My fitness goals include me losing 4 inches off my waist by June 1, 2010. In that vein I have a goal to do 300 crunches 3 days a week. Last week was crazy because of girls school activities, etc... I was at a friends house for a playdate, and she had a yoga ball that the kids were playing with (that should have been a clue). I sat on it for a minute and it felt "cool", so I went out the next day and bought one.

I thought the ball would be my new best friend. Boy was I wrong. This little bugger is "the debil" a la Kathy Bates in "The Waterboy". At any rate; I was under the impression that the ball would make it so much easier to get my crunches done and there would be no silly burn granted you do want there to be a burn. I just didn't anticipate the intensity of it. Yowzas!!! I guess I'll give the 300 another try tomorrow, but for the time being maybe I'll try for 100.

Here I come smaller waist.
